Optical networks, welding optical fibers

03/01/2024

We offer you services in the field of optical networks. We use certified and regularly calibrated optical fiber welding machines, thanks to which we can achieve a weld with precise parameters and the lowest attenuation.

Fiber optic cables can be used to build telecommunications networks because they are flexible and can be bundled like cables. They are particularly advantageous over long distances because light passes through the fiber with little attenuation compared to electrical cables with metal conductors. In addition, we can achieve a transmission speed of tens of Terabits per second. Each fiber can carry many independent signals, each using a different wavelength of light. Networking over short distances using fiber optic cables, such as in a building, saves space in the wiring because a single fiber can carry much more data than a single electrical cable. The fiber is also immune to electrical interference. Optical cables are not electrically conductive, which is a good solution for protecting communication equipment located on high-voltage transmission systems and metal structures prone to lightning strikes. They can also be used in environments where explosive vapors are present, without the risk of ignition.

Usually we use components as a pigtail, adapter, patchcord, weld protection, tray for storing optical fibers, boxes in which the optical welds will be protected are required for optical fiber welding.

Advantages of optical cables
  • Suitable for long distances without signal loss
  • Resistance to disturbing electromagnetic influences
  • Low attenuation compared to metallic conductors
  • High speed compared to copper cables

Disadvantages of optical cables

  • Fiber optic cable is easy to damage
  • Optical cables are more expensive than traditional copper cables
